That is why theDetroit Pistons, StockX, and Pensole Lewis College of Business and Design are teaming up to launch an incredible new opportunity for Metro Detroit residents. Called Light School, the free evening program will offer the knowledge needed to increase diversity and highlight opportunities in the design industry by offering accessible, hands-on career education. What makes this program even more exciting is its foundation: Pensole Lewis College, Detroit’s only HBCU, was recently revived with a $10 million grant from the Gilbert Family Foundation. This investment was not just about reopening a school—it was about capitalizing on Detroit’s legacy of design and creating opportunity for the city.
